Michael Marconi is a trial lawyer with nearly seventeen years of proven experience. Michael specializes in the practice of complex commercial litigation. He has successfully represented clients in both state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings in connection with a wide variety of business disputes, including litigation over contracts, trade secrets, franchise and distributor disputes, antitrust issues, patent infringement, copyright matters, securities litigation, shareholder derivative actions and oil and gas disputes. Michael has also represented clients in connection with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance issues as well as Department of Justice investigations into price fixing allegations.
Michael was born in Dallas, Texas on June 2, 1963. He lived overseas for sixteen years in Spain, Italy and Sweden and is fluent in both Spanish and Italian. Michael has traveled extensively throughout Europe and has also traveled to Latin America, North Africa and the Far East. In 1985, he received his A.B. summa cum laude from Boston College. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Michael was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. After completing the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course and Airborne School, Michael was assigned to the 2nd Armored Division Artillery at Fort Hood, Texas where he served in various positions including fire support team chief, battery executive officer and battalion adjutant. In 1992, Michael received his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Michael began his trial practice in the antitrust and securities litigation section of Gardere & Wynne in Dallas, Texas and later became a Partner with McKool Smith, P.C. Michael is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of Texas.
