Mr. O’Connell specializes in commercial and complex business litigation, trust and fiduciary litigation, and real estate litigation. He represents a wide variety of clients in litigation matters, and counsels those clients in all aspects of formal and informal dispute resolution and contract negotiation. He has given numerous speeches and training classes on various aspects of fiduciary duties and obligations and risk management for financial institutions. Mr. O’Connell came to the firm after serving for many years as Assistant General Counsel for a major U.S. and international financial institution.
Mr. O’Connell was born in Geneva, Illinois on June 14, 1960. He received his B.B.A. in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in finance, and his J.D. in 1985 from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1985.
